We’re very excited to attended the Riding for the Disabled’s sixth National Championships held at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire from 13th to 15th July 2018 – which this is our second year with Womble representing Scropton Riding for the Disabled Centre this year to compete in the Graded Showjumping and RDA Grade 4 Championship Dressage classes, we are hoping to come home with some good results after this inspiring event.
It was such a fantastic start to our National Championships weekend as we rode brilliantly well in the Graded Showjumping class on Friday which we went to win the class with sensational double clear round and get double points for the Para Showjumping league – This was our first time win at Hartpury, we are luckily enough to win the ‘Bobby & Jonquil Solt’ trophy as a class prize at the prize giving presentation so we were over the moon with all of our hard work paid off at home training with our coach, Jayne Hughes over past few weeks which has been really brilliant!
Heading into the second day, we were ready to rode our Grade 4 Championship test in the afternoon in such a very hot weather conditions – Womble has coped really well with the heat condition during in action. We are really thrilled to get another new personal best score of 71.50% with three 8’s on our scoresheet and remarks from the judge were very positive as well – it is almost very close to win the class as top seven riders in the class scored over 70% which were incredible, as we get to score over 70% again which I could not be proud to achieve this which we came sixth in this class. Ending the weekend with being presented by Dressage Anywhere to receive their Gold medal and rosette from the Online Championship Show in May which were added to our achievements so far at Hartpury College.
I am looking forward to representing Riding for the Disabled again for the first inaugural RDA ID Championship held at Solihull Riding Club in September hosted by British Dressage – with thanks to Horse & Hound for the lovely feature last week – Click here to see the recent article as well as being invited to compete among 60 inspiring riders at this event.
