1st September 2018
British Dressage & Riding for the Disabled were delighted to announce the inaugural RDA Intellectual Disability Dressage Championships which will be take place on Saturday 1st September held at Solihull Riding Club which is invitational championship, BD & RDA invited over 60 statemented riders after their excellent results at the regional RDA qualifiers. Three levels of tests will be judged by experienced RDA judges – It was our honour to be ambassador of the RDA ID Championships behalf of BD & RDA together to support this event alongside Julie Frizzell, Natasha Pearce and Sarah Hadley.
We went to Solihull Riding Club on Saturday 1st September after winning our Para Showjumping class at Aintree on Friday, we were lucky enough to be invited and competing alongside 60 RDA ID riders which we will be competing in the RDA ID Canter class. The championships started with RDA Walk in beautiful sunshine across Solihull which we saw some brilliant riding from RDA ID riders across all regions. When it comes to our class in the afternoon, we warmed up and rode such a good test which puts us in sixth place out of ten riders in the RDA ID Canter class with overall score of 62.36%, but one of two judges awarded us such a brilliant score of 66.05%!
It was lovely to meet Julie Frizzell, the interim Para Director for British Dressage and Natasha Pearce BD Para Dressage Officer and spoke about how proud are we of making Riding for the Disabled Intellectual Disability Championships so successful and it is our privilege to backing the work BD & RDA doing to make it happen on the day – Huge thanks to British Dressage for having me at the RDA ID Championships.
It was so incredible to be part of this inaugural RDA ID Championships which we will never forget this day – Thank you to BD, RDA and Solihull Riding Club!
